Greenhills Gets the Day's Freshest Catch with Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps

Finally, the day's freshest catch comes to Greenhills...

Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps recently opened their third branch in the metro at O Square Greenhills along Ortigas Avenue, allowing even more diners to experience Davao's best. Fresh and succulent crabs and shrimps, cooked the way you want it. Now, it's fun to be messy at Greenhills...

Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps offers live crabs, not frozen, for clean and rich flavors. It's the kind of flavors that just can't be recreated with frozen seafood. Simply pick your crabs and have it prepared the way you want it, Blue Posts Boil, Garlic Fried, Sambal, Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce, and Salted Egg. And it's served exactly the same way as it is in Davao, fresh and straight off the pots (for more on Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps, see my earlier posts, From Sea to Table: A Taste of Davao's Best at Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps on the very first branch in Davao that started it all, My Kind of Crab Mentality: Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps Opens Third Davao Branch at SM City Davao on their growing list branches in Davao, #ProudDavao: A Sumptuous Seafood Feast at Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps on the epic feast at the SM City Davao opening, From Davao to Manila: Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps Opens at The Block at the opening of their very first branch outside Davao, and #ItsFunToBeMessy: Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps Opens Second Manila Branch at SM Mall of Asia).

The crabs are weighed and priced based on prevailing market prices (roughly P 180 per 100 grams). Once you choose your crab and preferred cooking method, just sit back and relax for one memorable seafood feast. The food grade wax paper is rolled out on the table by the staff, and with gloves, bibs, and mallets, you're ready for the first course...

...with fresh Mussels in Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce (P 589). The rich briny sweetness of the plump mussels pair perfectly with the equally rich garlic lemon butter sauce. And the mussels are large, with its vibrant orange colors. The Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce is new at Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps, and works well with crabs and shrimps too. Buttery with the nutty notes of crunchy garlic kicked up by the zesty flavor of lemon, just perfect.

The Garlic Fried Shrimps (P 573) is another signature dish at Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps, and a personal favorite.

In true Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps style, the staff then delicately unloads the bag to place the shrimps directly on the table. The fresh shrimps offer delectable textural contrasts with every bite capped by a lightly crisp outer layer. But why peel the shrimps when you can enjoy it whole for even more flavor? A dip in the local sinamak vinegar completes the flavors.

Another must-try dish at Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps is the new Shrimps in Salted Egg (P 573), with deep-fried crunchy shrimps draped in a special salted sauce. Each crunchy bite delivers layers of rich flavors...

...and you'll want some extra rice with this one. You know it's fresh when it's so easy to peel off the shell, but then again, enjoy it all with the shell for more flavor in one bite. The salted egg sauce adds that extra layer of flavor complementing the fresh shrimps.

But don't forget the crab. The Garlic Fried Crab (P 180 per 100 grams, roughly P1,100-P 1,300 per crab) served with sweet corn (add P 45) completes our seafood feast at Blue Posts Poiling Crabs and Shrimps. With succulent crabs, garlic fried is the way to go...

...so get ready to get messy and hammer away with the mallet. The delicate sweet notes of the fresh crab line the palate, followed by the nutty notes of the crunchy garlic. Just the way I like it. Hungry? Head on over to Blue Posts Boiling Crabs and Shrimps for a taste of Davao right here in Greenhills...
